Spanish educators visit HELUKABEL to learn about dual vocational education in Germany
Last week, HELUKABEL welcomed an international delegation of educators from Spain to our headquarters in Hemmingen. These professionals came to learn more about the dual education system in Germany as the introduction of such as system is currently being discussed in their home country.
The Eric-Bracher School in Kornwestheim, a vocational school that many HELUKABEL trainees also attend, is responsible for establishing this initial contact. The school has been involved in international projects pertaining to vocational training for many years as part of the EU Erasmus programme. Students and teachers alike take part in regular exchange opportunities, including in the Spanish city of Valencia. These exchanges help support foreign language competencies, among other things, and provide varying insights into the professional world. These are important advantages to have in an ever more global economy.
By touring the company, the educators could experience firsthand the advantages of dual vocational education for its participants. The trainees at HELUKABEL are integrated into their teams in business and commercial areas from the start and take on important responsibilities and tasks. "They become acutely familiar with the entire business from the ground up and learn everything they need to contribute to HELUKABEL as a qualified professional," says Training Advisor Melanie Neef. "We pay special attention to developing their skills and talents and supporting their growth." In this way, Tatiana Nogueira, a Spanish-speaking trainee, was able to assist as an interpreter during the educators' visit to Hemmingen.
The knowledge garnered from this exchange will be presented to the Spanish Ministry of Culture, where it will contribute to the further development of the local dual education system. "I believe that dual vocational education offers significant advantages for all involved," Melanie Neef emphasises. "I am pleased that this visit could contribute to furthering our support for the youth on a European level."
