For students at the local Hemmingen primary school, outdoor classes are now a reality. The project was sponsored by HELUKABEL GmbH, which is headquartered in the same community in the south-west German state of Baden-Württemberg.

New outdoor classroom for students at Hemmingen primary school

The Hemmingen primary school's new outdoor classroom will offer the students a place to learn, relax, and socialise in the school yard.

"The teaching staff and parents’ council have long been hoping for an outdoor classroom," explains Headmistress Konstanze Aßmann. "The furnishings were, however, far beyond the reach of our budget. We are elated that HELUKABEL offered to donate funds to cover the remaining costs of over €6,000." Hemmingen Mayor Thomas Schäfer, who took part in the dedication ceremony, thanked the local company for its social engagement.

"HELUKABEL has had its home in Hemmingen since 1978 and therefore has close ties with the community," says Managing Director Marc Luksch. "As a family business, we place a great amount of value in supporting the youth here in Hemmingen with their education." HELUKABEL is also a member of the programme "Klasse2000", which advocates for healthy meals and activities, as well as violence and addiction prevention programmes at primary schools. Through this programme, the company became a sponsor for one of the grades at the Hemmingen primary school.
